General Rule: The future simple is used to talk about events that will happen in the future, but have not yet taken place.
Formation:
I (Je) infinitive + ai
You (Tu) infinitive + as
He/She/One infinitive + a
We (Nous) infinitive + ons
You (Vous) infinitive + ez
They (Ils/Elles) infinitive + ont
Example with the verb WORK (TRAVAILLER):
TRAVAILLER : Je travaillerai, Tu travailleras, Il/elle/on travaillera, Nous travaillerons, Vous travaillerez, Ils/elles travailleront.
Note: The “e” of the stem takes a grave accent (è) in the future for certain verbs. Ex: To buy (Acheter) : I will buy (J’achèterai) a house in the countryside.
Ex : Acheter : J’achèterai une maison à la campagne.
